Blues and soul singer Clarence Carter, also known as Dr. CC, will be perform his classic hits. Born in Montgomery, Ala., Carter was blind from birth. He gravitated to music and taught himself guitar by listening to John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins

and Jimmy Reed. He majored in music at Alabama State University, learning to transcribe charts and arrangements in Braille.
