So in short...the tables are all mashed together and your chair is constantly bumped..the Margarita pizza was floppy, sloppy, flavorless and sad. Osso's "take" on a cannoli is a joke. Everyone at my table all ordered seperate entree's...only the osso buco was decent. Fish was dry and over-cooked. I guess it's ok for Charlotte fare.
I have been to Osso several times and I have always received excellent service & fantastic food. I love the elegant and upscale setting. The warm atmosphere in a trendy setting really adds to the dining experience. Personally I do not know of any other restaurant in Charlotte which offers all of this. This past week, my 79 year old friend & I dined at Osso. We shared the antipasti platter...loved the gorgonzola dolce cheese. I had the delicious pumpkin ravioli and my friend had the Osso Bucco which was unbelievable!!! For dessert, we had the molten chocolate cake which we highly recommend. Everything was delicious! At the end of the meal my friend said to me "I have lived 79 years long, have dined in many restaurants throughout those years , and I have never had a memorable experience such as Osso." I will continue to frequent Osso and recommend this Fabulous restaurant.
Ms. Schwab, what kind of summary is this? More barnwood? You want more simplicity? Is this what you were hoping for from a designer known in Miami and New York? Would you prefer Charlotte strive to be like Spartanburg of the 70s (I lived there), with one Dairy Queen and one A&W root beer stand?
Your summary is as if you suddenly noticed that had just met your total words minimum on your review and decided to turn your attention somewhere else. Poor writing.
You start your big complaints section with an incident of a patron being rather self-centered in her admiration for the restaurant. What would you have had management do? Hard to excuse at that price point? As if this were something that occurred regularly at this, or any, establishment. Yours was a useless point in whatever negative argument you are trying oh so hard to build here against Osso.
I frequent Osso. It is an elegant, well-appointed restaurant in the early hours, and a throbbing, hip, and trendy lounge at night. The service is always top class. Having had the privilege of enjoying some of the most elegant and trendy eating establishments on earth, I can happily report that Osso offers something of that world to us here in Charlotte. Osso is a tremendous spot in a really fun part of town, in OUR Charlotte: a place no longer in the backwoods.

Vibrant Italian in a unique setting for Charlotte, though care of diners disappoints.
