Blackthorne Restaurant & Bar

I've only had one or two minor complaints when my wife and I have gone there and one of them is due to a lack of something (they took mashed potatoes off the menu; hopefully this will return in the fall when it's colder. I have no idea why they're so remarkably good, but they are.) The trout and salmon are the best I've ever had.

The bar staff are exceptional. My wife says their martinis (citrus basil?) aren't sickly sweet like most people make mixed drinks. They've never let her down either, and she's piccccckkkkyyyy!

We tried this place back in February. Had 8:00 reservations and we were not seated until 8:45. It happens, OK. I had the meatlof mentioned in the article. Average at best. I would describe it as chewy with bland flavor (although the sauce was good). Fries were tasty but everything else was underwhelming. I doubt we would go back. For the price there are much better restaurants in the area.
