Reporter Bob Wilton is in search of his next big story when he encounters Lyn Cassady, a shadowy figure who claims to be part of an experimental U.S. military unit. According to Cassady, the New Earth Army is changing the way wars are fought. A legion of "Warrior Monks" with unparalleled psychic powers can read the enemy's thoughts, pass through solid walls, and even kill a goat simply by staring at it. Now, the program's founder, Bill Django, has gone missing and Cassady's mission is to find him. Intrigued by his new acquaintance's far-fetched stories, Bob impulsively decides to accompany him on the search. When the pair tracks Django to a clandestine training camp run by renegade psychic Larry Hooper, the reporter is trapped in the middle of a grudge match between the forces of Django's New Earth Army and Hooper's personal militia of super soldiers. In order to survive this wild adventure, Bob will have to outwit an enemy he never thought possible.

As usual Toppman takes himself and a movie too seriously. He asks what the writer and producer want us to take away from the movie.
The same thing every writer and producer of a movie want you to take away-a lighter wallet. Get a grip man: its a MOVIE. Its not serious literature. It won't be taught in freshman English at Harvard. Its entertainment.
The reviewers on this site have got to be shills for the movie industry. This is not the first great review that has not captured the true appeal of a film. There are moments that make you laugh, but they are few and far between. In the mean time, you shake your head and wonder just what they were thinking. The humor is subtle and I normally prefer that style, but a half dozen laugh out louds is hardly enough to justify the price of the trip to the cinema. A good see it when it comes out on dvd. If this link shows up, it's a much better review of this movie.

Wonkily entertaining (if perplexing) story of attempts to use soldiers' psionic powers. (Full review)
