Three Bone Theatre presents the Charlotte premiere of King Liz by Fernanda Coppel, directed by Dr. Corlis Hayes February 15-17 and 22-24 at the Duke Energy Theatre at Spirit Square Liz Rico is a black female sports agent at the top of her game. Liz has money and an elite client roster, but a woman in a man’s industry has to fight to stay on top. She’s worked twice as hard to get where she is and wants to take over the agency that she's helped build. Enter Freddie Luna, a high school basketball superstar with a troubled past. If Liz can keep this talented yet volatile young star in line, she just might end up making not only his career, but her own as well. But at what price? Fernanda Coppel is one of the top Latina playwrights in contemporary theatre. In addition to her work on the stage, Coppel has written for popular TV shows including The Bridge, Kingdom, and How To Get Away With Murder. King Liz was recognized on the 2015 Kilroys List of most recommended un- and under-produced new plays by female and trans authors and has been optioned for a TV series on Showtime. King Liz is rated R for adult language and content and is recommended for ages 18+
